Great news – PD is to hold another Conference!! I attended their last event in 2012, and found it SO helpful – and, it has to be said, in some ways reassuring. It was great to meet others who were experiencing a range of problems and barriers over very many planning matters – with both large and small developments.

I learnt a lot that day and made loads of new contacts; it was also pretty humbling as so many communities were facing disruption to their lives and amenities much worse than my particular concerns; through ill-considered planning decisions, lack of democracy, failure of local authorities to monitor and if necessary enforce agreed Conditions and some unscrupulous developers.

I am still actively involved with 2 local planning issues [getting nowhere but I battle on!] and contribute to addressing issues over countless others all over Scotland; and of course, I’m using the strategies and sharing with pals in my network [including folk on both sides] that I met at the last PD Conference.

Where will all this end? The democratic deficit in Scotland is HUGE!! The system is heavily weighted in favour of developers in order to realise so called “Sustainable Economic Growth”. Come to the PD Conference on 25th April to learn ways to join forces, and get active in achieving something better!!! You can’t afford to miss it if you are concerned that all the wee David’s are being largely ignored.
