It is important we collect robust evidence to help us understand the problems people face. We want to gain an understanding of the wider issues of planning, land use, environmental justice and the economy so we can effectively advocate for change.
The information we have gathered over the years has helped inform our manifesto for change and has had some influence over the narrative of public engagement in planning.
To collect evidence and develop understanding, we
> Visit communities affected by planning issues, listen to their stories and gather case studies.
> Are establishing a collaborative partnership with Glasgow University on student dissertations.
> Will support a European research project led by Professor Geraint Ellis at Queens University Belfast.
> Work with and communicate on a regular basis with academics, such as Dr Andy Inch from the University of Sheffield.
